FORMATION

““And every day in the temple and at home they did not cease to teach
and proclaim Jesus as the Messiah.” — Acts 5:42

Christian Formation

At St. Francis, we believe that we are never too old or too young to hunger for the greatest truths. Our Christian formation ministry for children and adults honors that hunger--calling body, mind, and spirit into the search.  All of our experience forms us spiritually, but in this ministry we seek to be intentional about how we are formed.

For more information or to get involved in the ministry community for Christian formation, call Fr. John or David Chilton (Missioner for Religious Life) at 696-1491. For more information about the children's program, contact Lena Williams at 690-3541 or Nandra Perry at 690-8891.  Sunday school meets in the Education Building at the back of the property.

Sunday school for preschoolers through first grade uses materials adapted from the Godly Play curriculum and the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd to engage body, mind, and soul in the stories and liturgies of our faith tradition. Using tactile materials that involve not only the mind but the whole person, we present at 9:30 each week meditations on the great issues of Christian faith and Anglican experience.

Children in second through fifth grade follow annual themes chosen to appeal to their developmental stage and to engage them in exploration of their faith tradition.
